Founded in 2013 by Carol Olson, Basecamp Strategies provides a unique approach to consulting, centering our work around customized strategies to meet clients’ unique needs. By listening, guiding, and designing, our collaborative approach results in lasting impact. We partner, support, and collaborate.  Whether designing new programs, creating strategies for increased impact, or facilitating community, input, our course of action is tailored to our clients’ needs.

Carol Olson has a 30-year background in non-profit and foundation management, and has taken on the challenges and reaped the rewards of community service from every angle. Her experience as an Executive Director, a Board Chair, a Program Officer, an events manager, a PR director, and a volunteer coordinator means Carol appreciates the many contributing roles in the non-profit and philanthropic world.

Over the last 30 years, Carol has worked with non-profit organizations and foundations to find collaborative solutions to complex problems. In particular, she

  • co-founded the Environmental Education Funders Collaborative of the Bay Area.
  • served as Director of Environment and Stewardship Programs at the Morgan Family Foundation where she was a founding member of the Northern Sierra Partnership and the California Stewardship Network.
  • served as CEO of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce where she was a founding member of the Santa Clara County Coalition of Chambers, launched the Diversity Youth Forum, and created school and business partnerships.
